I downloaded the object exporter plug-in but when I try to open the zipped file it says I have to 'insert the latest disk from a multi volume set'. So I tried opening and extrcting it with winRAR but it said 'file type was not recognized or the file was corrupted. How do I install it?

You probably have a corrupted download. Download it again. It's just a dll in a zip.
