Slow day today, been working on getting the Castle project finished, took a bug break and made a Cameo Picture Frame. The polygon count is quite high, due to the rear stand, which is seperate, so you can choose whether to use it or not.

The DPS file contains the textures used, including that wonderful Burlap texture. It dosen't include the picture, as it is one of my photographs which I had published and is copyright, so instead I placed a Union Jack texture in the pack Smile

Another Utilities. A sack truck this time, the type you may find in a railway station.

The file includes the textures.

An unusual one, a British Royal Mail Post Box.

The model is UV mapped and includes the textures used.

Thanks for the feedback... glad you enjoyed them. I am adding two more mail boxes, a wall mounted/inset and a old victorian version.

Today, I took a break from the Castle Project, and completed this Inset Royal Mail Box.

I've included the picture I used for verification.

The file contains the textures used and is full UV mapped.

The Victorian Royal Mail box. This is quite a high polygon model, the Victorians didn't do simple lol. All those spheres upped the polygons.

Fully UV mapped and textures included in the package.

You may have seen in the Bug section of the forums, I was having a problem finishing a project, a building made from a single cube.

I've reached a point, with a fair bit of patience, to finish the model to where I'd like to pass it ont now, and let others see how they would finish it. I have not UV mapped, or textured it, Its a mock tudor style house, the 'bits' on the ground floor, around the front mainly, are polygon faces, designed to be textured with timber and inset rendered, or brick panels.

There is plenty left to do with the model, but I've taken it as far as I want to for now, from that single cube. Surprised

This is the Package version (dps)

Or the full dxs version

Shocked You made all that from a single cube? Impressive is the word! Very Happy

What are the main tools you used? Inset and Extrude for sure. Any more?

Amazing... Might be a good model to test my NashaUV plugin with. Wink

That reminds me, I still have to release it. Rolling Eyes
I'll probably do that this weekend.

Yes, a single cube lol.. see what happens when you got to much time on your hands.... well actually, I wanted to see what would be the mainstay of tools I would have to use to create any compex shape, using only one cube.

I included the orginal dpx file so you could see I hadn't cheated.

Polygon face extract and inset, vertice insert, vertice connecting, edge extrude, welding (a lot of welding), snap and rotate, scale of both vertices and polygon faces, fill (can't do without fill). I really really would like to be able to select a group of vertices and click Connect, then Fill, without having the message, only one edge can be missing. It means I've either missed a vertice for welding, or I have to extrude an edge somewhere, and weld the joints, only to find the face needs flipping LOL.

I enjoyed the project, hopefully it taught me to work smart and logical. I'd recomend it to everyone to give it a go. Maybe make it some sort of a competition.

Like AWM Mars i mostly create my models from a single cube. I don't like the results of CSG very much, only in the early stages of modelling. So most is done by inserting and extruding.
