When constructing a world, the Scene Inspector becomes a very large unmanagable list. Is there a way I could:

*) Select objects to edit by clicking on them

or

*) Group primitives into categories in the scene inspector

?? Thanks Very Happy

In any viewport you can hold down Shift and left click any object to select it. Hold Shift and Ctrl and left click objects to add/remove them from your selection group. In the 2D Viewports you can drag a selection window to select a group of objects.

I would have liked to have seen a hierarchy style list for the scene, then I could select by group, but this IS a low polygon modelling programme, perhaps not visioned to be a full scene or multi mesh modelling programme. It's still darn good though in my opinion.

However, you say 'Primitives', I assume you would like to group them into a singular model, to carryout global edits etc? Select each of the primitives, then select Merge in the menu box, confirm and you now have one mesh. I always save the project beforehand, then use save as, and give it a version name, before proceeding.

Thanks! I just didn't know you could hold down shift and click on another object. All this time I thought I had to select it from the list, THEN I could modify its vertices/polys/whatever!

It's Shift+Left click, to select an object.

Shift+Ctrl+Left Click, to select/deselect more objects, adding them to the edit group.

You can do this in all viewports.

Or, use a drag window to select a group of objects, not so precise.
