I have created a short tutorial for those wishing to have glass effects in DeleD etc.

I've made this into a PDF file for ease of deployment.
http://www.working.yourinside.com/DeleD/Tutorials/GlassTexture/GlassTextureTutorial.pdf

I have also included the actual GlassTexture in png32 bit format used in the tutorial.

I will show additional effects you can do with other textures and vertice colour/alpha settings, to create lens flare and caustics, in further tutorials here.

Thanks Mars! Got it working. Smile

Don't mean to jack your thread, but for anyone else that does not have that tool, here is a copy for GIMP...

1. File->New
2. Open "Advanced Options" set "Fill with" to "Transparency"
3. Either select a color or a pattern fill (to give it some texture). In the fill tool, set "Opacity" to 40 or whatever.
4. If you used a pattern fill...Select Filters->Map->Make Seamless.
5. File->Save as a PNG.

NP John, the more ways to producing this in different graphics programmes, the better.

How about a way of doing it without, using a texture?

Simples Cool
