Hi guys!

Well, for approximately 1 year now I'v created around 100 different models for my upcoming game. I'v spent an enormous amount of time on these models, and I was really satisfied by how god they turned out to be (in my opinion).
However, yesterday I tried to open one of those models - but I couldn't find it... (?). After a quick research I found that all my models were missing. I'v searched my whole computer for them, without any luck so far...

Some useful info:

-The files were saved under C:\Program Files (x86)\DeleD CE\Scenes\(unknown folder name) as .dxs.
-I bought RealmCrafter Pro around the same day I noticed the models were gone (coincidence?).
-I've checked the trash can, and no, there is nothing to be found there...

Thanks in advance for replies Smile Im feeling really depressed and suicidal (not really) right now Crying or Very sad

Well, I'm sure DeleD does not suddenly decide to delete your files. Wink So something else is going on here. We need more info. Did you run some sort of cleaning program? Have you searched for the .dxs extension on your computer?

DeleD normally stores the files directly in the Scenes directory. Did you use another map on purpose?

Strange as it may seem, the new programme may have taken over the dxs file format, therefore DeleD won't probably able to see them in its file manager.
As Jeroen said, try searching manually for the files, then re-associate the format with DeleD.
Hopefully, that's the problem, if not, I can point you to a good few 'File Undelete' programmes.

EDIT:
Judging what I see on their website, I'm not that impressed with this Scene Manager programme. Weblinks go to 404 (try News link), the FAQ page is empty http://realmcrafter.com/store/pages.php?pageid=52
The servers are very sluggish, probably hosted on some freebie VR server or the same server they use for testing.

On the plus side, the Pro version, although states it's in Beta, has no royalties for its license, so the 'Price' is good. Especially for anyone who can code in C++ Cool

Turns out I installed a virtualization program here the other day so that I could run two different OS's. The new OS somehow "cut out" my deled models and moved them here:
(That's at least the only explanation I can figure...)

This is just weird as hell, especially if you look at the folder I marked above... There is no folder named "Appdata" if I go into the "Sondre" folder... Jeez, I don't even know what Im saying anymore. But what the hell Smile I found my models !

Thanks for replying Jeroen and AWM Mars!

Good news Maelstrom. I'm sure that was quite a fright for you - glad things worked out indeed, as Dave said already. Smile

Another good reason to get into the habit of regular backups to DVD, offsite, etc.

AppData will be a hidden file normally used to store copies of the programs used on your computer.
The biggest question is why did your virtual store put them in appdata. That will slow down all of your programs.
I would move them back to your deled/scenes folder. (or another folder withing the deled folder)
