When I use IE, I can login to the forums and stay logged in. When I use FireFox, it won't allow me to login. This despite clearing history, clearing browsing history etc etc. Firefox does ask me if I want to remember the password etc, and shows this info in the Tools menu.

I'm using 7.0.1 version.

Yep, does that as well. IE is much less tolerant of timeouts.
It has been getting worse this past couple of months. Not sure who the hosting company are, but my hosting package gives me the ability to 'defrag' the database, and to use a local cache. It maybe due to Jerons p0rn media delivery website, hosted on the same server, causing overload Laughing .. just kidding. Laughing

I used IE for years. I had tried ff a few years ago, but had too many problems with it. Due to problems with IE lately, (every website loaded like I was using dialup) I switched to FF again to give it a try. I found it slower than IE. I am now using google chrome. It's different, but sure is a lot faster, and I don't have login problems and timeouts anymore. Even here.

I always use FF and have no troubles with it. Or at least, so it seems. Yesterday I tried logging into the delgine.com maintenance section (as provided by my host) and that failed using FF. Switching to IE allowed me to login and to defrag (optimize) the databases.

So... that means I've cleaned up some forums, optimized the phpbb database and disallowed some bots to constantly crawl the forums. Things should improve. If not, suggestions for improvement are welcome!

Not sure if this is related but... Even when I select 'Keep me logged in' I have to login everytime I visit. This is the only forum that won't keep me logged in, have you turned off that function Jeroen? Or is part of the browsers issue?
I've deleted cookies and even reset IE, nothing works.

It's your browser. I have no problems staying logged in.

I think it's your browser, too. I have no problems staying logged in either. Anyone else does?

I would agree it would be my browser if this happened on a large % of websites/forums, but it is only this forum Sad

I have this issue with this forum on and off, Sometimes it works for a while, then not. I did a reset of IE not long ago to get the issue of Flash ActiveX working (it wouldn't update).

FireFox on the other hand stays logged in, yet won't stay logged in Warez at all, despite the system saying I'm logged.
