Hi all,
I've just finished my new DeleD plugin, it's a DeleD to POV-Ray exporter, with witch you can obtain rendered images just like this one:

from this project

You can add lights that are correctly rendered, in addition to this you can modiphy light properties (in example color (only diffuse will be considered) inner and outer angles etc...).
Owing to the fact that I can't retrieve camera information from DeleD, I 've used 2 pointlights called "camera" and "camera_target" that are interpreted by parser as camera position and look at.
It's just the first version but it's completely functional, it exports correctly all the meshes and textures.
If you have POV-Ray and want to try this plugin please let me know.
I've tested it with POV-Ray 3.6 for windows.

To do:
-Let the user select particular properties for surfaces
-Let the user select ambient and sky
-Let the user add transparency

What do you think of these screenshot?
Bye Razz

Excellent work II Buzzo! Cool It's very good to see other formats are now supported (X,OBJ,POVRAY,3DS etc). Also, let me remind you that DeleD 0.87 LITE also enables you to create lightmapped scenes. Wink

Buzzo, I'll send you a testversion of DeleD 0.87 this weekend so you can convert your great plugins to the new format. I have some more work to do concerning materials first though, which might affect the plugin system too. Smile

Yes, same trick I had to use for the lights in the .map exporter.

Hi All,
Thanks for comments, I'm writing down a small guide and I'm just now creating some addings, just like materials finishing (you know Phong,Mirror etc....) and to add Basical skies (night and day skies predefined in POV-Ray), after this I'll release the first version.
So If there is someone who use POV-Ray can tell me what he thinks of this plugin.
At the moment I'm trying to reduce code lines of .pov script to reduce parsing time with POV-Ray, And I'm thinking of adding some tricks to exports only objects involved in rendering and not the whole scene (at least give the user the possibility to choose Smile ).
Anyway I think to obtain a version with material use (I'm thinking of implement it via the "User Info" tag) for monday.
Let me know what do you think of these ideas.
So Bye. Laughing

Since I don't expect that there are too many POVray users here - can't you post this thread in some POVray forum? This might get these people into liking DeleD?

I haven't used povray for ages and ages, but I think the idea of using DeleD as a graphical modeller for povray is brilliant! Good work, il buzzo!

Hi All,
I'm continuing to upgrade my POV-Ray plugin (at the moment I've added real water plane, and skyboxes to add a better realism to scenes).
Now I'll convert it to new version of DeleD (It's in 0.86 format for now Smile ) and release after announcing in Pov-Ray forums.
Bye Smile

I know, that this is not very good to dig out a sooo old thread. But a PovRay exporter would be really cool =)

Hi Guys,
Well, I've not released till now this plugin because of no real interest in it.
But if you'll like it, I'll port easily to new DeleD format and then I'll release.
Bye Wink

Great work Ilbuzzo, keep it going! Cool

Edited: Many ppl are also writing exporters for Kerkythea's renderer (xml format). Dunno how feasible it may be to convert deled's info into Kt's.
