I finally (pain stakingly) textured a piano model I made some years back... But I'm not even going to dare bare with the anguish of texturing the individual keys, so for now they remain light blue

Nope not DeleD, Wings3D Sad But DeleD did the texturing better than Wings3D could.

Cool! (both Jeroen and me play the piano a bit, so we have to love this model! Smile)

From what I can tell from the screenshot, the black keys don't stick out, right? Perhaps you can try fitting an image of the clavier (i.e. cut it from an image like http://www.arbiterfrance.com/images/vmk188_d1.jpg) over all the keys at once, that will make the texturing easier and more efficient than doing the individual keys.

You could use simple black/white colors instead of textures. Other than that, the piano looks great. I'm sure you can create something like this in DeleD too. If not in 1.36, then 1.4 will help you out with improved lowpoly functions. Smile
