I've written a Wavefront object exporter plugin which I'm making available. I've attempted to test it for errors as much as possible but please inform me if you find anything wrong with it. It's available for download at my website.

I made some changes to the .obj exporter today. changes included are:

- added option to save selected objects only
- added option to save vertex normals
- added progress bar
- fixed an issue which would cause deled to hang if the exporter window was still open while closing deled.

Enjoy

Hey, I need help. I tried installing the plugin, but whenever the .dll is in the Plugins folder, DeleD LITE won't run - it just closes itself before it finishes opening. When I remove the .dll it runs fine.

I've tested another Plugin which works fine, so I don't understand what the problem is :/

Hmmm, strange! Just to be sure, I installed DeleD 1.44 and unzipped the dll into the plugins folder... works fine here. So let's find out what is going on...

. Inside the plugins folder you'll find a file called "plugins.log"... could you see if there is any additional information inside?
- Is the DLL about 120kb large? (i.e. let's make sure we are not dealing with a corrupted download here)
- What operating system are you on?

I cleared the plugins log file and tried loading the plugin, this is the log file:

27/07/2006 18:50:11: Plugin logfile created.
27/07/2006 18:50:13: Plugins unloaded.
27/07/2006 18:50:16: DBOExporter.dll loaded.
27/07/2006 18:50:16: Import3DS.DLL loaded.
27/07/2006 18:50:16: ImportOBJ.dll loaded.
27/07/2006 18:50:16: ImportX.dll loaded.

The .dll is indeed 120kb, I got it from the plugins page of the website so I shouldn't think it's corrupt Smile

I'm using Windows XP Professional Edition with service pack 2.

Quite strange. This is the first occurrence of this I've heard. I'm not sure what is causing it. Is there anything non standard about your setup that you think could be related? Did you install DeleD to a different directory? Are you using any window managers? There could be a bug in the plugin which I will try to track down.

It's all standard, as far as I know. The program is in C:\Program Files\DeleD LITE, I don't think I'm using any windows managers.

New version of obj exporter available.

fixes include: material colors are now stored in correct order. (red/blue channels reversed). Tag property would cause crash if comma was used. Exporter window now takes control of deled and stays on top. Other minor fixes and changes.

Please feel free to upload the new version on the site guys. Thanks.
