I am currently working on a CrystalSpace exporter. The exportation plugin does not yet have all of the functionality that is needed to fully export a DeleD scene, but it does already export a first setup of the scene. This includes all primitives, the used textures and point lights. The exported scene can be immediately used in crystalspace. Features missing at this moment (but being added in coming weeks): ode-physics, other light types, lightmaps, advanced materials (no alpha blending etcetera at this moment), tagging support to indicate start positions.

I can go into two directions:

1) Wait to release the plugin until it is fully finished
2) Give you guys a first release to see how well it works for you and to get feedback on what is missing and what features are most wanted

I prefer to use path 2. But it is dependent on people actually using it. That is why i place this message on the forum. Please answer the poll and fee free to give me your comments.

Greetings,

Good poll!

I'd agree option number #2 would be the best way to go, as it will get you some actual user feedback even at this early stage. You might want to try and get some people from the Crystal Space forums to give it a try as well... after all, DeleD Lite is completely free, so there wouldn't be much of a barrier.

Good idea!

I'll post a message there as well.

I like to thank the people that have taken the time to answer the poll. Although the poll at the DeleD site does not show much interest into the exporter, the poll on the CrystalSpace forum shows that there are at least a few people that would like to try the exporter. I am happy with that outcome Smile I am currently creating a version of the exporter that is stable and functional. My aim is to release it during this weekend - so before 17-4.

Thanks again.
