Hello,

I'm use the Map Importer plugin to import my .map files (i did my maps in MohRadiant), but when I import the map file something was wrong.

In map editor the angles of textures work correctly, but in DeleD when I import the .map file the editor change the angles of textures to agree of the solid/brush angle.

Some idea to fix this bug ?

If you can send me the .map file (paul at delgine dot com), I can take a look at it and fix it.

There is about a gazillion different map file formats out there, and I simply didn't have any textured 'MohRadiant' files to test with. If you provide me one, I'll make it work. Very Happy

Hi Paul,

Really, there are many editor for Quake map files, each with your custom properties and methods. Mohaa Radiant is the very best (in my opinion because the navigation of camera is the best of all editors in Q3 standards).

Well, in link bellow you get the .map, some textures and the shader used to call textures in MOHRadiant enviroment.

Another bug i saw. When I put curves (bends) or cilinders (to make pipes for example) the plugin dont export this objects, it work only with solid/brushes (in these map you will find an object with 16 sides, is the "best" I do to simulate a pipe).

I wait for some reply, and thanks for make the plugin, is very very good.

Ah, Q3 style .maps... Thanks a lot for the file! Didn't have any Q3 .map file with textures yet, so this helps me a great deal in fixing that texturing issue.

You are right about the other issue too, the .map importer doesn't handle curved surfaces yet. Simply because none of my test-.maps contained any... and neither does the one you provided, right? If I can get my hands on such a file I'll try to import it.

Also, note how importing the file into DeleD (that is, once I implement support) will convert the curved surface into straight polygons (simply because DeleD doesn't support curved surfaces, we are a polygon-based editor).

Well Paul...

If you need a map with more complex buildings, including pipes and end caps tell me because I can send to you a version of this map with this objects. Laughing

Ah, great stuff, thanks a lot... and yes, that's most definitely our goal. The primary goal is to convert everything to DeleD-compatible primitives and lights, making them suitable for re-export to .map files comes secondary at the moment (as generic .map exports is not something we'll be supporting soon).
