Don't know any good free ones. Best low cost I think is this Ultimate Unwrap 3Dhttp://www.unwrap3d.com/u3d/index.aspx comes in two versions with a save disabled demo avalible for each.

It used to be called lithunwrap long time ago and free. Google search will still find downloads of it. But has very limited features to newer versions , no harm trying maybe it will suit your needs.

Thanks guys. Smile We tried Roadkill. Seems like a nice package but didn't seem to have what we're looking for, which is an easy way to let each polygon (triangles in our case) have their own unique space on the UV map.

Bit hard to explain really, but we've got some models here and when we UV map them in DeleD, sometimes triangles overlap in UV space. As we're working hard on some very nifty UV painting algorithms, we need every triangle to have its own unique space on the UV map. It can be hard to rearrange all overlapping UV's in DeleD itself so we're looking for a package which can to the job for us.

It seems unwrap3d allows us to achieve what we want in a single click. We'll investigate a little further next week. Of course, more suggestions are welcome! Smile

Maybe NashaUV helps? Wink

It doesn't have powerfull rearrange-tools, but you can planar-map sets of triangles in such a way that you don't have overlaps. Razz

But Ultimate unwrap is probably faster.

Ah, it would be very nice to have a tutorial on that really!

Good that you mention that. I believe it's the only thing preventing people to work with it. I'll see if I can make some time to write a tut. Smile
